DESCRIPTION

A jubilant gold-tone figural brooch captures a jester or clown in mid-stride, balancing an oversized parasol above his head. Glossy purple trousers, a split green-and-yellow jacket, tiny gold-tone shoes, and a textured brimmed hat give the character theatrical dimension. The parasol edge is set with alternating purple, green, and golden-yellow glass-like gems, while looping purple and green enamel ribbons curl from its crown.

WORTH NOTING

The dimensional casting is finished on the reverse with textured details, and the elongated pin stem closes across the back. The exact character remains uncertain—the source also questioned jester versus clown—and the gem and enamel materials have not been independently tested.

CONDITION

Pre-owned with light surface wear and scattered darkening visible on the gold-tone reverse. The enamel colors remain bright in the photos, the parasol accents appear present, and the pin stem and catch are in place; fastening function has not been tested.
